Monolith my shadow grows
Unbridled thirst and gasping breath
With mauled remains to feed the crows

The faintest inhale with buckling knees
Sand manifests in decompensating lungs
Powerless I lay before, again it has begun

Born alone, stand alone, a pattern I so wish to refuse
Needs ignored, negligence born, reflect and recall this abuse
Wounds exposed, curses in prose, a craving for love to diffuse
Eyes set, the muse met, incendiary bowed with satin fuse

Those who once brought me life now apterous corrupted flight
Dejected, tragic pose, demented
Broken promises ensnare, vigilance aware, ulcerating fallowed heart

Nomadic I have roamed, heart set to trust and confide steeped in the wells of invalidation
Feels as though countless times, a lovers kiss and tantric drive
Years spent waiting, abating, learned helplessness I must abide
To find myself in the arms of another unmitigated my heart as guide
Juvenile folly directed course
Inflicting venom hearts paralysis, a lurking shadow set to divide
Lying helpless in defeat when the monolith arrives

Viscera adorned, blight reborn, cursed treachery of the heart
Desert heat, defect discrete, a pained victor in defeat
Demanding why, returning sighs, Bathory bathed in reverence
Repeating, lack of meaning, crying into my bloodied hands

Forever searching to appease the tide
Bloodied betrayal, a god that lied
Forever feeding this condemnation, genuine connection, a trap for corruption
Adoration spoken through barred gritted teeth

Pitiful, harmful, embrace your lover's heart
Ravaged, bankrupt, parasitic attachment

Misery, hemorrhaging, devils sing

This unquenchable thirst for purpose desecrates all cast in it's wake
An empty hallowed vessel only seeking to satiate
Shadows speak as cursed hearts beat
Realization comes as the monolith prepares to indoctrinate
